I love musicals and one of my favorites is "The Sound of Music." I remember seeing it for the I very first time when I was in college in Dallas with a good friend of mine. Over the years I have seen rej runs of the movie numerous times, enjoyed cut-down versions by various groups, and even played , I some of the music on band concerts. One delightful little song from the musical sums up pretty well the

last month: "So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good-bye... " So long, good-bye, see you later. I guess here in deep South Texas we could easily add "adios." The Winter Texans have left the area in large quantities and we have wished them "God

Speed" on their journey. They added warmth and energy to our services; they served in a variety of . ways in hospitality and outreach; they sang, they served, they made new friends while renewing old . ones, and now they are going back home. Oh. a few are still around, but their days are numbered as

well. Soon the final "see-you-next-year" will be said.

When they return next fall, when the winter snows push them further south, what will they discover when they arrive? Will they find a church frozen in time, suspended waiting for them to get back. Or, will they discover a Vibrant, dynamic church spreading the "Good News" in new and fresh ways. Already I find myself busier, even as the numbers in worship have dwindled. Lots of energy is going into the Youth/Children's department. Vacation Bible School (June 23-27) is taking shape and

I will be the first our church has hosted in several years. Outreach within our own city limits is unlimited. I We offer programs and worship opportunities in our church that people are seeking. But sometimes, I we just do not seem to market ourselves very well. We have a lot to offer here, and I want folks to I know about it.

I have set a goal of getting the Word out about FUMe, La Feria this summer. One of the first things we are doing is a complete make-over of our web site. Articles will soon appear in the news about all we are doing. But there remains one resource greater than all others that we need. YOU!! The church needs YOU to be excited about being a Christian, excited about our church, and anxious to invite others to join us. Spread the Good News! Our busiest season is on top of US.
